Job Title: Staff Accountant

Key Responsibilities:
  • Posting journal entries and accruals
  • Reconciling bank accounts, accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory, and general ledger
  • Maintaining and reconciling fixed assets accounts and roll-forward schedules
  • Reviewing and recording employee and contract labor payroll journals
  • Assisting with month-end closing activities and providing management with reports, data, and analysis as requested
  • Preparing monthly balance sheet, income statement, and changes in financial position/budget variance analyses
  • Working with the appropriate department to research and resolve discrepancy issues timely
  • Generating month-end reports in the absence of the AR lead or when requested
  • Reviewing daily issues and working with the team to resolve them
  • Documenting issues beyond your control and reviewing them with the Division Controller in a timely manner
  • Working with the Assistant Controller to complete a clear year-end audit
Requirements:
  • 3 years of experience in accounting and finance
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business (preferred)
  • Intermediate/advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Hands-on experience with accounting and ERP software (Microsoft Navision/Dynamics 365 Business Central is a plus)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to demonstrate advanced analytic skills, including excellent mathematical skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with multiple levels and departments within an organization
  • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Working Conditions and Physical Demands:

This position will be in an office setting at a desk equipped with computer, monitors, phone, and other applicable resources/equipment. It will require the applicant to routinely sit, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, and bend for up to 8 hours. Position requires the occasional lifting of objects up to 10lbs.
