Position Overview:
Job Summary

The Expiration Management Specialist is responsible for inspecting dated merchandise, ensuring proper rotation, and replenishing stock efficiently to meet customer needs. Shifts typically commence at 8 PM.

Key Responsibilities:

- Maintain the quality and condition of dated products.


- Complete the Scanned Item Rotation Report at the start of each shift and identify items due for rotation within the established time standards.

- Remove products nearing expiration and rotate stock daily according to guidelines using the Quality Assurance Display.


- Update the Quality Assurance database daily, including the addition of new or untracked items once the store's database is established via the Scanned Item Exception Report.

- Scan out Quality Assurance pulled stale or damaged items at the backroom scanner.

- Conduct periodic inspections of vendor items, reporting short-dated issues to the Receiver and Assistant Manager.

- Regularly check outer department rotation.

- Inspect Large Quantity Items (LRQT) rotation periodically.

- Audit flagged items discarded by the freight crew and report findings to the Assistant Manager.

- Communicate repeated rotation issues to the Assistant Manager and relevant Department Manager.

- Inform the Store Manager of ongoing rotation challenges.


- Alert store management about large quantities of products approaching expiration within two weeks (or sooner for refrigerated LRQT) to facilitate markdown decisions.

- Assist customers with inquiries and perform training duties.

- Ensure a safe, secure, and sanitary work environment.

- Execute all job responsibilities with integrity and honesty.

- Report short-dated products shipped from the warehouse to the appropriate Warehouse Inventory Supervisor, including order and UPC numbers.

- Occasionally transmit data to the General Office.

- Perform additional duties as assigned or required.

Qualifications:

Skills Required:
- Consistently deliver friendly and courteous service to both internal and external customers.


- Ability to reach, lift, stack, and maneuver objects of varying sizes and weights up to 40 lbs., from floor level to overhead occasionally.

- Stand, walk, and move quickly for extended periods.

- Bend, stoop, twist, and turn frequently.

- Ensure safe and accurate completion of work tasks.

- Learn and memorize product locations, company policies, and Quality Assurance procedures.

- Exhibit manual dexterity and good hand/eye coordination for product rotation.

- Conduct visual inspections of merchandise placed on shelves.

- Communicate effectively (hearing & speech) to provide customer service during shifts.

- Perform primary duties efficiently and accurately.

- Meet or exceed established scanned item rotation report time standards.

- Work night shifts, typically starting at 8:00 PM.
