Job Overview:

As a Respiratory Therapist at Yale New Haven Health, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care in critical care and neonatal environments.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Assess patients' pulmonary status using basic skills, including medical chart review, patient interview, physical examination, and blood gas interpretation.
  2. Operate and apply respiratory care equipment, including ventilators, manual resuscitators, and monitors, with knowledge of their proper use.
  3. Organize and prioritize tasks efficiently, utilizing time productively during work hours to complete assignments on time.
  4. Ensure accurate and timely documentation, meeting regulatory and hospital standards.
  5. Maintain a commitment to integrity, patient-centeredness, respect, accountability, and compassion in personal and job-related decisions and actions.
Requirements:
  1. Education: Graduation from an accredited program of Respiratory Care, current active license by the State of Connecticut as a Respiratory Care Practitioner, and NBRC Registry Examination eligibility.
  2. Experience: Entry-level position for new graduates plus those with some experience in critical care or neonatal environments.
  3. Skills: Competent in basic operation and application of respiratory care equipment, excellent oral and written communication, organizational skills, ability to work under stressful conditions, and interpersonal skills.
