Job Summary: Yale New Haven Health is seeking a skilled Pulmonary Care Specialist to join our team. As a Respiratory Therapist I, you will provide optimum age-specific respiratory care, assessing patient's pulmonary status, and interpreting diagnostic procedures.

In this role, you will contribute to effective communication through documentation and maintain patient confidentiality. You will actively support the patient care team, support quality improvement efforts, and assume responsibility for maintaining clinical competency.

Key Responsibilities:
* Performs clinical activities in assessment, treatment, and education of patients with respiratory problems.
* Assesses patient's pulmonary status using basic skills, including reviewing medical charts, patient interviews, physical examinations, and interpreting blood gases.
* Documents all care provided via electronic medical record accurately and maintains patient confidentiality.
* Communicates clearly and appropriately with co-workers, demonstrating a cooperative team spirit.
* Assumes responsibility for maintaining clinical competency through continuing education, professional growth, and development.

Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited program of Respiratory Care, current active license by the State of Connecticut as a Respiratory Care Practitioner, NBRC Certification, and Bachelor of Science Degree preferred. This is an entry-level position for new grads, those with limited experience in critical care or neonatal environments, and those who have not yet completed the NBRC RRT exam.

What We Offer: 36 hour night position, rotating weekends and holidays. Estimated salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year.
