We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team at the City of Racine. As a key member of our maintenance department, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to the repair and maintenance of heavy equipment and vehicles.
In this role, you will work closely with our Fleet Manager to ensure that our fleet is running smoothly and efficiently. Your expertise will be essential in identifying and resolving issues with our equipment, and your attention to detail will be critical in ensuring that all work is completed to the highest standards.
About the Position
As a Heavy Equipment Technician, you will be responsible for a wide range of tasks, including:
* Performing routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements
* Conducting repairs and overhauls of heavy equipment and vehicles
* Diagnosing and troubleshooting issues with equipment and vehicles
* Assisting with the installation and maintenance of electrical and hydraulic systems
Requirements
* Journeyman certification in heavy equipment repair or a related field
* ASE Certifications from the National Institute of Automotive Service Excellence preferred
* 4+ years of experience in heavy equipment repair or a related field
* Valid Wisconsin driver's license required
