Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist both wholesale and retail clients in identifying necessary parts with a professional and approachable demeanor.
  • Educate customers on related part requirements and promotional offers, ensuring they are aware of the complete product range.
  • Handle incoming calls, providing accurate pricing information and additional details as needed.
  • Deliver exceptional service to both internal and external clients.
  • Alert the parts manager regarding any out-of-stock items or urgent shop supplies.
  • Source out-of-stock parts from external suppliers and place emergency orders when required.
  • Inform service advisors and customers when special orders have arrived.
  • Follow up on any back-ordered items.
  • Conduct weekly reviews of will-call and back-order files, returning unclaimed items to vendors or restocking as necessary.
  • Process payments from retail customers and secure credit approvals.
  • Ensure all charge transactions are properly documented with customer signatures.
  • Provide customers with their invoice copies.
  • Manage returns of parts, ensuring original invoices or their numbers are available for verification.
  • Track and issue requested tools to technicians.
  • Maintain organized records of repair orders, invoices, insurance estimates, and special orders.
  • Prepare orders for daily shipment, delivery, or customer pick-up.
  • Engage with assigned accounts via phone to promote services.
  • Participate in available training programs to enhance skills.
  • Stay updated on new products and industry developments.
  • Collaborate with the parts manager to maintain a lost sales tracking system.
  • Uphold a professional appearance at all times.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Strong knowledge of automotive parts and systems.
  • Minimum of 3 years of sales or customer service experience in a high-volume environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to navigate ambiguity in a fast-paced, evolving workplace.
  • Commitment to ethical business practices.
  • Knowledge of relevant federal, state, and local regulations affecting service operations.
