Job Summary

Woodgrain is seeking a highly skilled Inventory Control Technician to join our team. As an Inventory Control Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our inventory management system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Audit and reconcile inventory discrepancies to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Provide training and support to associates involved in inventory movement transactions.
  • Update reports to track and monitor transaction activity and inventory accuracy.
  • Research and troubleshoot shipping, receiving, warehouse, and production inventory issues.
  • Inspect materials within the warehouse for safety concerns and ensure hazards are removed.
  • Verify materials are properly labeled and easily identified.
  • Investigate variances from cycle counts and physical inventories, and work with facility managers to correct issues.
  • Audit the processing of production transactions within the ERP/MRP system and ensure subsequent material tagging and physical inventories are correct.
  • Provide support for inventory reconciliation processes, including formal physical inventory audits, through transaction research and variance reconciliation.
  • Monitor back-flush bins/materials and reconcile as directed.
  • Perform storage location movements as needed to ensure physical location of materials corresponds to the ERP system.
  • Assist Material Handlers in locating available storage locations when regular bins are full.
  • Ensure materials are placed in appropriate storage type and section.
  • Consolidate like products located in multiple bins to as few bins as possible.
  • Rotate aged materials to the front to provide easy access for Material Handlers.
  • Locate aged, slow-moving, reject, and rework materials and ensure they are utilized in accordance with directives provided by Schedulers.
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of site storage maps.
  • Assist in cleaning and organizing storage areas and bins.
  • Participate in initiatives aimed at reducing material movements, damage, resource needs, etc.
  • Obtain and remain current on certifications and training as required or assigned.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required, bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, or industrial engineering preferred.
  • 3 years of experience in manufacturing execution, material handling, and/or inventory control.
  • APICS CPIM certification a plus.
  • SAP experience a plus.
  • Excellent analytical, mathematical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work well with a wide variety of individuals and managers.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Operation of heavy equipment (forklifts).
