FLSA Status: Part-Time, Non-Exempt

Pay Scale: $25.00 – $28.00/hour

Schedule: On-site, 24 hours/week

Overview:

The A/V and Video Production Technician plays a crucial role in supporting the SCI-Arc Channel and the Media Department. This position is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of teleconferencing classrooms and providing essential technical assistance in videography, lighting, sound engineering, and live-streaming. The technician will also facilitate equipment demonstrations and training sessions as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the technical functionality of teleconferencing classrooms.
  • Provide training for students, faculty, and staff on teleconferencing equipment.
  • Light, shoot, and edit films for the SCI-Arc Channel.
  • Manage video display output and projection across various platforms.
  • Set up and maintain sound systems, including P.A. systems and amplifiers.
  • Broadcast live events to streaming platforms.
  • Operate professional broadcast cameras during live events.
  • Organize and edit media for the SCI-Arc Media Archive.
  • Record and edit audio for various media formats.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and media issues as they arise.
  • Maintain the Media Department office and A/V equipment.
  • Assist in supervising student workers and organizing events.
  • Conduct demonstrations of equipment and software as necessary.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in video production, teleconferencing technology, and audio production.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Strong knowledge of DSLR cameras, lighting, and audio equipment; drone operation is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Cloud Post-Production software, particularly Premiere Pro.
  • Experience with digital and analog audio mixing and recording devices.
  • Familiarity with both PC and MAC operating systems.
  • Knowledge of streaming software and platforms such as Livestream Studio, OBS, YouTube Live, and Zoom.
  • Understanding of teleconferencing infrastructure for various settings.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent interpersonal skills.
