  • The Environmental Services Operations Manager plays a critical role in supporting the Director of Environmental Services by providing leadership and direction to the Environmental Services Department. This position ensures that all managers and supervisors have the knowledge, skills, and competencies to oversee their assigned areas of responsibilities. The Environmental Services Operations Manager will also collaborate with and educate, mentor, and support the management team in providing leadership in the completion of department responsibilities, including allocating staff, equipment, and supply resources to fulfill the department's cleaning responsibilities.
  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Provide leadership and direction to the Environmental Services Department
    • Ensure that all managers and supervisors have the necessary knowledge, skills, and competencies to oversee their assigned areas of responsibilities
    • Collaborate with and educate, mentor, and support the management team in providing leadership in the completion of department responsibilities
    • Allocate staff, equipment, and supply resources to fulfill the department's cleaning responsibilities
    • Build relationships with nursing leadership and other supported departments to communicate with and listen to customer needs
    • Ensure that the management team carries out and properly documents department quality assurance activities
  • Requirements:
    • Education: A two-year degree with 7 years of experience in a related field is required. A 4-year degree is preferred.
    • License/Certifications: None required
    • Experience: Leadership skills and experience supervising managers and working with a staff of 30+ is required. Experience in managing multiple services is preferred.
    • Interpersonal skills necessary to build effective relationships with peers and customers
    • Analytical skills necessary to effectively contribute to hospital and department decisions
    • Ability to prepare reports using hospital and department computerized software programs
