General Overview:

Reporting to the Dean of Clinical Education/Assistant Dean of Clinical Education, the Clinical Faculty Member is tasked with supervising and collaborating with clinical students to ensure high-quality patient care and complete necessary documentation for both patient care and educational purposes. This role encompasses teaching, research, scholarly activities, and service to the College, promoting continuity and equity among faculty, staff, and students.

Organizational Relationships:
  • Reports to the Dean of Clinical Education/Assistant Dean of Clinical Education.
  • Collaborates closely with health center faculty, staff, and students.
Key Responsibilities:

The faculty comprises individuals holding academic rank engaged in instructional, scholarly, and professional activities for the College. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: classroom, laboratory, online, and health center instruction; course and curriculum development; research; student advising; enrollment management; College governance; and professional service.

Specific Duties:
  1. Oversee patient care in accordance with the established policies and procedures of the Northeast health centers.
  2. Develop and implement effective marketing strategies to enhance faculty practice expectations as outlined in the Faculty Handbook to support student learning.
  3. Responsible for all patient healthcare decisions, including evaluation, management, and recordkeeping.
  4. Serve as a consultation resource for fellow faculty members.
  5. Provide hands-on mentoring and cultivate a critical thinking environment for student education.
  6. Monitor student conduct, proficiency, professionalism, and adherence to health center standards.
  7. Evaluate and issue quantitative and qualitative credits, providing regular feedback to students.
  8. Assist with clinical education activities, including evaluations, orientations, remediations, and mentor meetings as required.
  9. Engage students in diverse clinical activities while ensuring appropriate continuity of patient care.
  10. Participate in health center meetings and mandatory professional development sessions.
  11. Maintain clean and organized patient treatment areas and report any equipment requiring repair.
  12. Contribute to College committees and task forces as assigned.
  13. Stay actively involved with professional, national, and state organizations relevant to clinical, educational, and administrative responsibilities.
  14. Develop a professional development plan in collaboration with the Dean of Clinical Education/Assistant Dean of Clinical Education.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned.
Accountability Methods:
  • Verbal and written communications with the Dean of Clinical Education/Assistant Dean of Clinical Education, health center faculty, staff, and students, as well as other College stakeholders.
  • Written feedback from students, patients, and other College constituents.
  • Annual performance evaluations conducted by the Dean of Clinical Education/Assistant Dean of Clinical Education.
  • Adherence to College policies.
Mental and Physical Requirements:
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Professional demeanor.
  • Basic proficiency in PC use and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) with a willingness to learn additional software for electronic health records and student education.
  • Ability to manage stressful situations in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
  • Perform all duties expected of a licensed clinician and demonstrate responsible clinical judgment.
  • Occasional travel may be necessary.
Education, Training, and Experience:
  1. Doctor of Chiropractic degree.
  2. Valid professional licensure to practice in New York State.
  3. Post-graduate degrees, diplomates, and certificates are preferred.
  4. Ongoing professional development is expected.
