Job Title: Ph.D. Program Director

Job Summary:

The Ph.D. Program Director will provide leadership and oversight of the Ph.D. program within the School of Business at Tiffin University. This role will encompass teaching, program promotion, faculty oversight, student advising, and curriculum development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teaching and Program Promotion: 40%
  • Program Promotion and Student Recruitment Support: 30%
  • Curriculum/Program Development, Program Review, Program Metrics: 20%
  • Support Duties/Process Development: 5%
  • Immersion Weekend Residency/Event Planning: 5%

Leadership Responsibilities:

  • Represent the Ph.D. Program within and outside the university.
  • Chair the Ph.D. Program Committee that oversees academic activities in the program.
  • Develop and enforce policies and procedures to maintain quality.
  • Create a supportive environment for Ph.D. students.
  • Ensure a Ph.D., graduate-level learning environment.

Recruitment and Admission Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Enrollment and Recruitment Marketing to ensure accurate program information.
  • Work with Enrollment Management and Graduate Admissions to nurture prospects and applicants.
  • Organize and coordinate recruitment/marketing initiatives.
  • Communicate with applicants regarding application status.

Promotion of Scholarship Responsibilities:

  • Keep abreast of current scholarship in global leadership and change.
  • Oversee and provide supervision for dissertation committees.

Advising Responsibilities:

  • Ensure students understand university policies on intellectual property, plagiarism, and academic integrity.
  • Assign advisors to students and assist with course selection.
  • Monitor students' progress and ensure dissertation committees are established.

Faculty Member Responsibilities:

  • Ensure faculty members know Ph.D. program policies and procedures.
  • Work with faculty on program and curriculum development.

Other Administrative Duties:

  • Work with the Dean of the School of Business to ensure a course rotation that allows degree completion.
  • Review and update program information annually.

Qualifications:

  • Terminal degree required, Ph.D. preferred.
  • Preference for candidates with professional and/or educational background in global leadership studies, change, and organizational culture.
