Job Summary:

UCHealth is seeking a skilled Ophthalmic Technician to join our team. As an Ophthalmic Technician, you will assist eye care providers in the care of patients and flow of clinical activities. You will ensure proper care and usage of medical instruments.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with performing patient care under the direct supervision of an eye care provider.
• Demonstrate proficiency in performing ophthalmic core competencies.
• Perform basic ophthalmic testing procedures, diagnostic testing, administration of medications, and tasks delegated by the eye care provider.
• Assist with minor procedures and prescription refill process under the direction of a provider.
• Perform documentation, patient education, and enter charges. Assist with the flow of patient care.

Requirements:

• High School diploma or GED.
• Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) or Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) or Certified Ophthalmic Medical Technologist (COMT) or National Contact Lens Examiner Certification (NCLEC) if performing as a contact lens technician.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider.
• Minimum 2 years sponsored on-the-job ophthalmic training or ophthalmic internship.
