Job Summary

Shalom Park is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nursing Care Specialist to join our team. As a Nursing Care Specialist, you will provide high-quality patient care in a nursing home facility, working closely with our residents and healthcare team to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing standards
  • Perform nursing assessments to detect deviations from normal and assess condition of patient
  • Respond to life-saving situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocol
  • Document interventions, patient behaviors and physical assessments for assigned patients
  • Participate in department or unit quality improvement activities
  • Interview patient to determine medical problem/condition and document in chart for physician
  • Document services performed for billing purposes
  • Dress wounds and give enemas, douches, alcohol rubs, and massages
  • Observe patients and report adverse reactions to medication or treatment to medical personnel in charge
  • Assemble and use equipment such as catheters, tracheotomy tubes, and oxygen suppliers
  • Collect samples, such as urine, blood, and sputum, from patients for testing and perform routine laboratory tests on samples
  • Record food and fluid intake and output
  • Maintain supplies, including stocking and ordering new supplies and disposing of expired or damaged supplies
