POSITION SUMMARY

The Youth Employment Specialist plays a crucial role in assisting young individuals aged 14-24 in achieving their personalized career aspirations. This is accomplished through proactive job development, outreach within the community, and fostering partnerships that create sustainable employment pathways for the youth we serve.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Engage with diverse individuals, including youth, participants, employers, and community members, to encourage involvement in the AMIkids Workforce Development Program and facilitate job opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the Career Coordinator to assess placement requirements and identify optimal job matches.
  • Recruit local businesses to participate in employment initiatives for AMIkids youth/participants while educating them about AMIkids services and needs.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with both local and national businesses to ensure ongoing job placement partnerships, ensuring effective communication on a monthly basis.
  • Develop a continuous pipeline of job opportunities for youth/participants through various resources such as workforce development agencies, job fairs, and community meetings, while guiding youth on effective job search strategies.
  • Understand the qualifications required by employers for various positions to ensure suitable matches.
  • Monitor the success of job placements and gather feedback from employers regarding the progress of youth.
  • Respond promptly to all inquiries related to business development.
  • Prepare and present monthly reports covering placements, satisfaction levels, and business relationships.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations as they pertain to youth employment.
  • Participate in necessary crisis intervention and physical restraint training and certification as mandated by state and contractual obligations.
  • Maintain CPR and First Aid certification through a nationally recognized organization.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associate degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in recruitment and community engagement is preferred.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
