Key Responsibilities- Develop and Implement Instructional Plans: Create and implement individualized instructional plans that cater to the unique needs of students with special needs.
- Provide Support and Guidance: Provide support and guidance to students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a comprehensive and inclusive learning environment.
- Collaborate with Colleagues: Collaborate with other teachers, specialists, and support staff to develop and implement effective instructional strategies and programs.
- Assess and Evaluate Student Progress: Assess and evaluate student progress, identifying areas of strength and weakness, and making data-driven decisions to inform instruction.
- Communicate with Parents and Guardians: Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to keep them informed of their child's progress and involve them in the educational process.
- Valid Teaching Certification: Possess a valid teaching certification in Special Education or be able to obtain one within 60 days of hire.
- Highly Qualified Status: Meet the Highly Qualified status requirements in the content area or be able to become Highly Qualified within 60 days of hire.
- Special Education Background: Have completed a program of study in Special Education from an accredited college or university.
