Senior Research Intern

Sony Corporation of America is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Research Intern to join our R&D center in the US Laboratory. As a key member of our research team, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with talented researchers in multidisciplinary efforts to develop Sony's future products and services.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct research and development of state-of-the-art machine learning algorithms for AI/ML-based Computer Graphics and Robotics for 3D Animation.
- Apply software engineering skills to identify challenges and future directions for our research.
- Collaborate with world-class researchers and creators, present findings, and contribute to the industry-leading entertainment technology community.
- M.S., Ph.D. candidate, or Post-doc in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or M.S. with research experience equivalent to Ph.D.
- Excellent fundamental research background and demonstrated record of innovation in AI, Machine Learning, Computer Graphics, or Robotics related areas.
- Excellent knowledge and experience in Physics-based motion generation for 3D character control.
- Excellent knowledge and experience in Deep Learning fundamentals and Reinforcement Learning.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
- Strong professional software development experience.
- Strong familiarity with game development workflow.
- Strong familiarity with neural network training, finetuning workflow.
- Strong familiarity with modern Python and C++.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and/or in a team environment.
- Knowledge and experiences in human object interaction.
- Knowledge and experience in limitation learning and skill learning.
- Knowledge and experience in machine learning-based robot control.
- Knowledge and experiences in generative models.
- Familiarity with Isaac-Gym, Blender, Unreal Engine, Unity, MuJoCo, or related software platforms.
The target hourly rate for this internship is $45.00 per hour. The individual will be paid hourly and eligible for overtime.
