Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Woodworker to join our team at Swan Creek Cabinet Company. As a Woodworker, you will be responsible for working with wood to create high-quality custom cabinets and storage solutions.

Your primary duties will include:

  • Reading and interpreting architectural drawings and blueprints to understand project requirements
  • Preparing and setting up machines and tooling for woodwork manufacturing
  • Lifting and moving heavy wood pieces onto machines
  • Operating woodworking machines, including saws and milling and sanding machines
  • Maintaining machines and ensuring they are in good working condition
  • Assembling wooden parts and sections to form complete articles of furniture
  • Performing sanding, staining, and other cabinetry finishing processes
  • Ensuring that sub-assembled and assembled items meet specific quality and project specifications

Additionally, you will be responsible for:

  • Understanding and observing all safety procedures and practices to prevent injury to yourself and coworkers
  • Participating in shared housekeeping rotations throughout the facility
  • Willingness to submit to a criminal background check and drug screen

Requirements:

  • Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and safety
  • Good hand-eye coordination and dexterity
  • Basic math skills and understanding of geometry
  • Mechanical skills and ability to troubleshoot issues
  • Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects
  • Physical strength and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Technical skills and ability to interpret design drawings and technical manuals

Desirable qualifications include:

  • Experience with spray guns, sanding, color blending, and touch-up
  • Knowledge of specialty finishes and different wood types
  • Carpentry skills and wood shop experience
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Training in principles of Lean Manufacturing
