Job Summary

Stoddard Baptist Nursing Home is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Nursing to oversee the delivery of high-quality care to our residents. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for driving quality improvement initiatives, implementing and monitoring clinical operational systems, and analyzing clinical data to ensure we promote a positive image throughout the facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and lead a team of licensed nursing staff to provide comprehensive resident care plans that meet the high standards of nursing practice and comply with relevant regulations.
  • Oversee the scheduling of staff, budget, staff development, and supervisory roles to ensure effective and efficient day-to-day operations of the Department of Nursing.
  • Monitor clinical data to ensure the facility is meeting the clinical needs of each resident and the clinical goals of the facility.
  • Initiate appropriate and timely problem identification and problem-solving in response to changes in clinical data.
  • Routinely monitor census, resident acuity, and staffing levels to ensure effective and efficient staffing patterns are in place.
  • In the absence of the Administrator, be responsible for oversight of facility operations.
  • Ensure systems are in place to facilitate timely and effective clinical decision-making regarding the admission of new residents to the facility.
  • Participate in the monitoring of patient referrals and actual admissions, identifying potential barriers to admissions and recommending solutions to accommodate additional types of patients.
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse with a minimum of three (3) to six (6) years of long-term care nursing experience required, MSN preferred.
  • Ability to analyze information received and lead staff to achieve positive outcomes for residents.
  • High-quality verbal and written communication ability, strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of nursing principles and state and federal health regulations.
  • Proficient in the operation of computer applications.
  • Must hold a District of Columbia RN license.
