Product Development Specialist

The Product Development Specialist will collaborate closely with the PD Director, providing essential support to sales teams in the development and management of product categories and presentations across a diverse range of consumer goods, including consumables, electronic accessories, home décor, seasonal items, garden supplies, toys, pet care products, personal health and beauty items, pharmaceuticals, and more.

Key Responsibilities

· Partner with PD and Sales teams to enhance company revenues by creating innovative, trend-setting products, line extensions, and programs.

· Oversee both new and existing products, establish objectives, and report on performance metrics.

· Drive product creation from ideation to commercialization, emphasizing creativity and innovation.

· Define product offerings, programs, and explore new brand opportunities.

· Conduct market research, including store visits and e-commerce analysis, to provide actionable insights for the creative team.

· Assess current market and competitor products, seeking opportunities to enhance value, features, designs, and functionalities.

· Coordinate with the PD calendar to ensure all critical milestones and deadlines are achieved, assisting in the establishment of objectives.

Qualifications

· A bachelor's degree in marketing, graphic design, or a related field.

· 2-3 years of experience in product development, sourcing, or merchandising within relevant product categories.

· Comprehensive knowledge of consumer goods product development, packaging design, brand management, marketing, and project oversight.

· In-depth experience in product development, including overseas product management and factory collaboration.

· A merchant-oriented mindset with a strong passion for products, retail, or wholesale, and consumer insights.

· Excellent data analysis capabilities and confidence in decision-making.

· Strong presentation skills with the ability to effectively communicate concepts and data.

· Proven decision-making abilities and problem-solving skills.

· Capacity to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and perform under pressure.

· High self-motivation, diligence, and adaptability to marketing shifts.

· An entrepreneurial mindset with a willingness to work hard and inspire colleagues.

· Exceptional communication skills, bridging the gap between business and creative aspects of the organization.

· Ability to manage several projects and priorities simultaneously, efficiently and effectively.

· Capability to translate ideas into actionable projects.

· International travel may be required, necessitating an understanding and respect for cultural differences.

· Desirable skills include basic knowledge of graphic design software and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

This position is primarily on-site. While some teams may currently have temporary hybrid work arrangements, this is subject to change.
