Product Development Specialist
The Product Development Specialist will collaborate closely with the Product Development Director, playing a crucial role in supporting sales teams to create and manage product categories and presentations across a diverse range of consumer goods, including consumables, electronic accessories, home furnishings, seasonal items, lawn and garden products, toys, pet supplies, personal care items, and pharmaceuticals.
Key Responsibilities
· Partner with Product Development and Sales teams to enhance company revenues by innovating new, trend-forward products, line extensions, and programs.
· Oversee both current and future products, establish objectives, and report on performance metrics.
· Drive product creation from concept through to market launch, requiring a high level of creativity.
· Define product offerings, programs, and explore new brand opportunities.
· Conduct market research, including store visits and e-commerce analysis, to provide clear guidance for the creative team.
· Assess competitor products and market trends, seeking opportunities to enhance value, features, designs, and functionalities.
· Coordinate with the Product Development calendar to ensure all critical milestones and deadlines are achieved, while assisting in the establishment of objectives.
Qualifications
· A bachelor's degree in marketing, graphic design, or relevant experience.
· 2-3 years of experience in product development, sourcing, or merchandising within the relevant product categories.
· Comprehensive knowledge of consumer goods product development, packaging design, brand strategy, marketing, and project management.
· In-depth understanding of product development processes, including overseas product management and factory collaboration.
· A merchant mindset with a strong passion for products, retail, and consumer insights.
· Exceptional analytical skills and confidence in data interpretation.
· Strong presentation abilities to effectively communicate concepts and data.
· Solid decision-making capabilities.
· Proficiency in identifying and resolving problems effectively.
· Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and perform well under pressure.
· High self-motivation, diligence, and adaptability to marketing shifts.
· An entrepreneurial mindset, demonstrating a willingness to work hard and inspire colleagues.
· Excellent communication skills, bridging the gap between business and creative aspects of the company.
· Capacity to manage several projects and priorities simultaneously, efficiently and effectively.
· Ability to translate innovative ideas into actionable projects.
· Willingness to travel internationally as required, with an understanding and respect for cultural differences.
· Desirable skills include basic knowledge of graphic design software such as Photoshop, alongside proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
This position is primarily on-site. While some teams may currently have temporary hybrid work arrangements, please note that this is subject to change.
