Position Summary

The Senior Project Manager role involves providing expert project management support and technical direction for assigned projects related to Division 8 frames, doors, and associated hardware, ensuring that the products supplied by APTURA meet client expectations.

The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for:

  • Offering technical support to Project Managers in Comsense, ensuring adherence to APTURA standards, code requirements, manufacturer capabilities, client expectations, and contractual obligations.
  • Advising on customer no charges and back charges to find optimal solutions while minimizing company risk.
  • Assisting Project Managers with the evaluation of ASIs/Bulletins/RFIs/PRs, and pricing for change orders.
  • Actively seeking product knowledge, participating in training, and applying new Comsense techniques to enhance expertise.
  • Providing coaching and mentorship to team members.
  • Facilitating the training of both new and existing Project Management team members.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.
Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Project Management Team with technical tasks, including analyzing project drawings, specifications, and contract documents to prepare quotes using industry-specific software.
  • Assist in troubleshooting material-related issues and offer guidance to resolve challenges.
  • Provide technical support to the Project Management and Purchasing teams regarding hollow metal, wood doors, and hardware.
  • Manage overflow projects as a Project Manager when necessary.
  • Review shop drawings and submittals for accuracy to ensure understanding of project scope and contractual obligations.
  • Conduct shop drawing reviews with GCs/architects and update submittals as needed.
  • Verify the accuracy of large 'typical opening' purchase orders before submission to vendors.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in repetitive tasks, prolonged sitting, and extended computer use.
  • Exhibit moderate computer skills.
  • Possess excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Prior experience in the commercial door and hardware or construction industry.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills for interactions with clients and internal teams.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Exceptional time management and customer service skills.
  • Maintain professionalism when addressing challenging customer situations.
