This position is responsible for ensuring a safe working environment for Liberty University employees and contractors. The Senior Occupational Safety Specialist will work under the direction of the Director of Environmental Health & Safety and the Senior Occupational Safety Compliance Officer to develop and implement safety programs and policies.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Provide training and education to employees and contractors on safety procedures and protocols.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and mitigate safety risks.
- Investigate and report on workplace incidents and accidents.
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety or related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in occupational safety and health.
- Certification as a Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) or Occupational Hygiene and Safety Technician (OHST).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
