The Patient Monitoring Specialist is responsible for the continuous observation of electronic monitoring systems for multiple patients from a centralized telemetry station. This role requires the ability to identify both normal and abnormal cardiac rhythms effectively. Timely documentation of rhythm changes is essential, along with reporting these changes in accordance with established protocols. A comprehensive understanding of arrhythmia recognition is crucial for success in this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that monitoring equipment and necessary supplies are readily available and in optimal working condition.
  • Provide pulse oximetry monitoring and accurate reporting as needed.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with healthcare team members regarding patient status.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.

  • Completion of an EKG course is required within the first 90 days of employment.
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association is preferred.

Work Schedule:

This position is classified as Per Diem, with work hours as needed.
