Propulsion Engineer III

Job SummaryWe're seeking a highly skilled Propulsion Engineer III to join our team in the design, development, and testing of propulsion systems for our liquid rocket engines. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading and participating in the entire design cycle of valves and fluid system components, including supporting requirements and verification definition, conceptual and detailed design, thermo-fluid modeling, structural analysis, development testing, and qualification.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and participate in the design cycle of valves and fluid system components
- Generate component and assembly drawings with the application of GD&T per ASME Y14.5
- Create documentation for assembly and testing of development and flight hardware
- Participate in fluid component and subsystem level testing
- Lead and support the development of project development plans, schedules, and cost estimates
- Minimum of a B.S. degree in engineering
- 5+ years of direct design and development experience in fluid and mechanical components in the liquid propulsion industry
- Proficiency in 3D CAD programs (Creo preferred)
- Expert in GD&T application and analysis (ASME Y14.5)
- Knowledge in the use of FEA analysis tools (ANSYS preferred)
- M.S. in an engineering discipline or higher
- Experience with Creo (Pro/E) Wildfire 5 or greater, Windchill 10
- Strong technical fundamentals in propulsion, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and structural analysis
This is a hands-on position that involves all aspects of the design, assembly, test, and flight operations of rocket components. You will work closely with a small, hardworking, and accomplished team of professionals to design, develop, and test propulsion valves, fluid system components, and other mechanical systems for various liquid rocket engines.
What We OfferWe offer a competitive compensation package, including a salary range of $111,690.00-$156,366.00, depending on location.
