Job Summary

Tuknik Government Services is seeking a highly skilled Financial Assistance Specialist to support our government customer. This is a remote opportunity that requires the candidate to be able to obtain a Public Trust.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the development and administration of grants, cooperative agreements, and other related instruments.
  • Participate in the design, development, implementation, and interpretation of grants/assistance management policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Support the development and delivery of training, technical assistance, expertise, and consultation to program officials, awardees, review panels, applicants, recipients, and sub-recipients as needed.
  • Support the review and evaluation of adequacy of grants/assistance policies and assist with information sharing and coordination between the Government and awardee organizations.
  • Participate in determinations of awardee eligibility using formulas and methodology and established eligibility criteria, such as competitive rating factors.
  • Develop program announcements and application solicitations or proposals for funding under assistance awards.
  • Assist in oversight, review, analysis, and evaluation of grants/assistance applications, plans, and estimates.
  • Assist in the preparation, processing, issuing, and tracking of grants/assistance awards and compliance with reporting requirements.
  • Assist with program evaluation, including monitoring and assessing awardee performance, and establishing performance measures.
  • Participate in monitoring, assessing, and ensuring awardee compliance with all terms and conditions of award.
  • Support the initiation and/or recommendation of audits to be performed.
  • Assist with the resolution of audit findings or monitoring audit resolution in partnership with resolution officials.
  • Support post-award reviews and analyses to identify management, financial, and administrative issues.
  • Assist with the monitoring of recipients of Federal funds for compliance with government's environmental and other requirements.
  • Support the initiation, planning, and conduct of surveys and studies to recommend changes to policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Communicate with external customers, recipients, and awardee community to clarify, interpret, and resolve issues.
  • Cooperate and communicate with various Federal agencies, organizations, and academic institutions in developing, reviewing, and evaluating the impact of new statutory regulations.
  • Support risk assessments and business reviews.
  • Recommend or support the initiation of appropriate action to protect government interests.
  • Assist with the final review of completed awards, recommending the initiation of appropriate adjustments or disallowances, and supporting the processing of documenting compliance with all regulatory and legal requirements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree not required
  • 2-4 years of experience
  • Microsoft Office 365, Outlook
  • Power BI and Power Apps a +
  • SharePoint, Teams experience
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust
Working Environment & Conditions
This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand, walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The workload may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress.

The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
