RN Acute Care Specialist

Job Summary
AltaPointe Health Systems is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in providing high-quality care to children and adolescents in our acute care setting. As an RN Acute Care Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive nursing care to our patients, collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans, and ensuring a safe and supportive environment for our consumers.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete admission processes for consumers, including nursing assessments, medication administration, and vital sign monitoring.
- Supervise nursing care, overseeing routine task assignments and ensuring the Six Rights of medication administration are followed.
- Communicate effectively with the physician regarding consumer physical and mental status, and participate in multidisciplinary meetings to develop and implement treatment plans.
- Provide emergency care, including CPR and PRN medications, as needed, and assist consumers with personal care issues.
- Document consumer information, treatment plans, and progress in a timely and accurate manner.
Requirements
- Current state license and requirements for renewals.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and push/pull force up to 25 pounds occasionally during shift.
- Strong grasp and ability to ambulate quickly to assist coworkers with consumers in restraint procedures.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent standing, sitting, and walking, with occasional forward bending, squatting, and kneeling.
- Ability to maintain back extension and put own body weight on one knee and one elbow.
- Occasional need to lift up to 10 pounds from floor to various levels, including from floor to overhead.
