We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Material Handler I/ Inventory Control Specialist to join our team at RK Logistics Group Inc. As a key member of our warehouse operations team, you will be responsible for processing parts through our organization, both physically and through our WMS system of record.
Key Responsibilities- Material Handling: Use hand trucks, dollies, pallet jacks, and other motorized equipment to move materials or freight in the warehouse-storage facility.
- Unloading and Loading: Unload customer product as it arrives and load product being processed for outbound shipment.
- Inventory Management: Weigh product, take measurements, and receive, unpack, check, and verify product to ensure accuracy.
- Receiving Exceptions: Process receiving exceptions as needed.
- Inventory Control: Conduct stock checks, part number verification, cycle counts, and support physical inventory.
- Packing and Shipping: Pack, re-pack, and wrap product for shipping/storage, and consolidate partial pallets into full pallets for location/inventory consolidation.
- Labeling and Tracking: Label parts as needed during receipt, put away, picking, or shipping process.
- Picking and Staging: Pick parts for order fulfillment, shipments, scrap requests, etc., and stage completed orders or shipments to the staging area.
- Documentation and Compliance: Ensure that orders and shipping material are accompanied by proper delivery documents, and inform lead/supervisor of overages, shortages, and damage found while picking orders or shipments.
- Quality and Safety: Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures, and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: Minimum 1-2 years of warehouse and logistics experience.
- Certifications: Prior forklift certification with 1-2 years of forklift experience.
- Skills: Strong math and writing skills, attention to detail, ability to work independently, and excellent time management.
- Abilities: Ability to stand, walk, use hands to handle objects, or reach with hands and arms, climb ladders, kneel, and crouch, and lift and move items up to 50 lbs. unassisted while using safe lifting techniques.
- Customer Focus: Customer and quality focused.
- LEAN Understanding: Understanding of logistics, shipping, receiving, and standard work instruction protocols.
- Communication Skills: Great communication skills.
- Inventory Control: Knowledge of inventory control.
- Computer Skills: Basic computer skills with knowledge of Word, Excel, and Outlook.
