Position Overview:

The Air Force Institute of Technology is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Criminal Investigator to join our team. This role involves the planning, organization, and execution of intricate criminal, civil, and administrative investigations.

Qualifications:

To be considered for this position, candidates must possess the following:
  • Specialized Experience: A minimum of one year of specialized experience at the GS-12 level or equivalent in Federal service.
  • Key Responsibilities:
    1. Conducting comprehensive investigations involving complex legal and regulatory frameworks.
    2. Analyzing contracts and business documentation critically.
    3. Employing standard investigative techniques and procedures effectively.

Time in Grade Requirement:
Applicants must have completed at least 52 weeks in a position at the grade level immediately below the one advertised.

Selective Placement Factor:
1. Experience in investigations related to Title 18 and the False Claims Act is essential.
2. Completion of the Criminal Investigator Training Program at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center or equivalent is required.

Age Requirements:
Applicants must be at least 21 years old at the time of appointment. Candidates without prior series 1811 criminal investigator experience must meet the maximum age limit for entry into a covered position.

Work Commitment:
Applicants must agree to work an average of two additional hours per day to fulfill law enforcement availability pay requirements.

Medical Standards:
The position necessitates moderate to strenuous physical activity, including walking, standing, and the use of firearms. Candidates must possess good vision and hearing capabilities, as well as emotional and mental stability to handle the responsibilities associated with this role.
