About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Kitchen Operations Leader to oversee the daily operations of our catering and café services. This role will also involve working closely with our 12-week Culinary & Hospitality Job Training Program, which is set to launch in 2025.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive curriculum for the training program, focusing on hands-on learning in catering, events, and café settings.
  • Provide on-the-job training in food preparation, safety, sanitation, inventory management, and event setup.
  • Mentor and coach trainees, offering feedback and support as they develop their skills and overcome barriers to employment.
  • Supervise trainees during real-time catering and café operations, ensuring they apply their learning in real-world settings.
  • Coordinate participant rotations across kitchen tasks to ensure comprehensive, hands-on experience.
  • Evaluate trainee progress, provide feedback, and assess their readiness for employment.
Requirements
  • 5-7 years of experience in catering, events, or restaurant management.
  • Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds, including those with limited English proficiency.
  • Expertise in software, platforms, and inventory management.
  • Passion for creating inclusive systems that empower clear communication, connection, and organization.
  • Reliability, motivation, and high energy, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including day and evening shifts, and weekends as needed for special events.
