Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Backend Engineer to join our team at Unreal Gigs. As a key member of our product engineering team, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining systems and services that automate the ingestion, storage, and retrieval of our healthcare price transparency dataset.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop scalable systems and services using Go and other compiled/typed languages.
  • Collaborate with our team to prototype user experiences and APIs for our products.
  • Contribute to defining the product engineering roadmap and architecture for our company.
  • Stay up-to-date on advancements in healthcare technology to inform our product development strategy.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a software product development role.
  • Proficiency in Go and experience with Postgres and Git.
  • Knowledge of the Amazon AWS stack and cloud-based infrastructure monitoring tools like Datadog.
  • Understanding of container execution environments like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Ability to work independently and thrive in a dynamic team environment.
  • Passion for improving affordability and transparency in the US healthcare market.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Node.js primitives and experience working with healthcare billing data.
  • Proficiency in handling massive datasets and building high-performance systems at scale.
  • Previous experience in roles involving direct interaction with customers.
