Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and train staff and volunteers to ensure high-quality childcare services
  • Manage daily operations, including scheduling, attendance, and record-keeping
  • Provide exceptional customer service to parents and guardians, responding to their needs and concerns
  • Ensure a safe and engaging environment for children, adhering to The Salvation Army's policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with the Member Services Manager to develop and implement programs and services
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, including attendance, incident reports, and statistical data
  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to stay updated on policies and procedures

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in early childhood education or related field preferred
  • At least 1 year of experience in childcare or a related field
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a high level of energy and enthusiasm
  • Physical ability to lift and carry children and equipment

Working Conditions:

The Child Watch Lead will work in a busy and occasionally noisy environment, with frequent interactions with children, parents, and staff. The position requires sitting, standing, and walking, as well as lifting and carrying children and equipment. The employee must be able to work in a team environment and maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.

Equipment and Supplies:

The Child Watch Lead will have access to a variety of equipment and supplies, including activity mats and tables, classroom chairs, blocks, carts, toys, arts and crafts accessories, books, and classroom lockers/storage units. The employee will also have access to general office equipment, including computers, point of sale kiosks, photocopiers, scanners, printers, fax machines, telephones, microphones, audio-visual equipment, and automobiles.

Clearances and Certifications:

The Child Watch Lead must have a valid driver's license and insured transportation. The employee must also hold CPR/First Aid/AED certification at the time of hire or be able to obtain it within a reasonable amount of time after hire date. The candidate must pass a criminal history information check and be willing to undergo a background check.
