Job Summary

The Child Watch Lead is responsible for overseeing the Child Watch and Game Room facilities, ensuring a safe and engaging environment for children ages 6 months to 10 years old. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with children, parents, and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and train staff and volunteers in the Child Watch area
  • Ensure compliance with The Salvation Army policies and procedures
  • Provide a safe and developmentally appropriate play environment for children
  • Meet and greet members, guests, and staff with a smile and hello
  • Resolve member and guest complaints in a professional and courteous manner
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • At least 1 year of experience working with children
  • Computer literacy and proficiency in using new software programs
  • Excellent telephone skills and ability to maintain a non-judgmental attitude
  • TB clearance required
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with a Point of Sales (POS) system
  • Preferred classwork in childhood development or related field
  • CPR/First Aid/AED certification
Working Conditions

The Child Watch Lead will work in a fast-paced environment, interacting with children, parents, and staff. The position requires sitting, climbing, and lifting, as well as the ability to work in a team setting.

Equipment Needs

The Child Watch Lead will use general office equipment, such as computers and point of sale kiosks, as well as activity mats and tables, classroom chairs, and other equipment necessary for the Child Watch and Game Room facilities.
