Position Summary
The role involves executing preventative maintenance tasks on plant machinery. Responsibilities include diagnosing and rectifying equipment issues as required. The technician will apply skills in electrical work, welding, carpentry, and general mechanical tasks to resolve problems throughout the shift. Fabrication of machines, tools, and other items will be necessary, along with prioritizing project completion based on production area demands.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance on all plant machinery.
- Diagnose equipment failures using diagnostic tests for electrical circuits, hydraulic systems, and mechanical processes.
- Ensure proper operation of all plant equipment, including safety shutoffs and devices.
- Utilize lock-out/tag-out devices as necessary.
- Interpret electrical and mechanical schematics as well as welding blueprints.
- Operate forklifts and various hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Fabricate machines, tools, and other items from sheet metal and steel.
- Complete work orders and associated paperwork as instructed.
- Perform additional tasks as directed.

Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED preferred, or equivalent combination of training, experience, and education demonstrating the ability to fulfill key responsibilities.
- Minimum of seven years of verifiable experience in industrial mechanics, welding, and hydraulics.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities.

Required Skills and Abilities
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. to a height of 4 ft as needed.
- Availability to work as scheduled, including overtime when necessary.
- Basic math skills, including addition and subtraction.
- Proficiency in speaking, understanding, reading, and writing in English sufficient for job performance.
- Capability to safely climb on, around, and under machinery as required.
- Ability to climb fixed ladders and stairs to access machinery from catwalks ranging from 5 to 17 feet above the floor.
- Strong attention to safety protocols to prevent injury to self and others.
- High level of detail orientation and accuracy.

- Prioritize tasks effectively based on importance.

Communication
- Collaborate effectively to ensure tasks are completed correctly the first time.

Working Conditions
This position operates within a production plant environment. The employee may frequently encounter fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibrations. The noise level can be loud, and the environment may involve exposure to sharp objects and wet or sticky conditions from beverage containers. Working conditions may vary in temperature and humidity.

While performing job duties, the employee will regularly communicate and will be active, frequently standing, walking, and reaching with hands and arms. The role involves standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds repeatedly for extended periods. Duties may include pushing and pulling carts filled with recyclable materials, climbing on and around machinery, and navigating ladders and stairs as necessary.
