Position Summary
The role of the Plant Mechanic 2 is crucial in maintaining the functionality of plant machinery. This position involves conducting preventive maintenance and addressing mechanical issues to ensure optimal operation of production equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on all machinery.
- Monitor and assess the operational status of equipment, including safety mechanisms.
- Implement lock-out/tag-out procedures as necessary.
- Operate forklifts and utilize various hand and power tools effectively.
- Employ welding techniques and cutting tools safely and efficiently.
- Complete necessary documentation and work orders as assigned.
Qualifications
Applicants should possess a High School Diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of training and experience that demonstrates the ability to fulfill the responsibilities of this role. A minimum of three years of verified experience in industrial mechanics, welding, and hydraulics is required.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks as needed.
- Willingness to work scheduled hours and overtime when required.
- Basic mathematical skills for operational tasks.
- Proficiency in English for effective communication.
