We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Special Education Support Expert to join our team at the Coast Community College District. As a Special Education Support Expert, you will provide specialized support and assistance to students enrolled in our Special Education programs, including the Intellectual Disabilities (ID) Program, Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) Program, and the Adaptive Fitness Program.
Key Responsibilities- Provide academic support and assistance to students with disabilities, including those with intellectual disabilities, acquired brain injuries, and other special needs.
- Work closely with instructors and other support staff to develop and implement individualized support plans for students.
- Assist students with class assignments, academic preparation, and other educational activities to maximize their academic success.
- Provide emotional support and guidance to students, as needed.
- Collaborate with other support staff to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to student support.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience: One year of experience working with students with disabilities, preferably in a Special Education setting.
- Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and a commitment to providing high-quality support services to students.
This is a professional expert position, and the District reserves the right to extend, modify, or eliminate this position based upon available funds. The effective dates of employment will be arranged with the supervisor.
This is a recruitment for an applicant POOL to fill temporary/short-term assignments on an as-needed basis. Departments or Divisions will refer to the POOL of applications on file to fill temporary/short-term assignments as the need arises.
