Job Title:

Community Service Officer

Job Overview:

The Community Service Officer plays a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of the university community by adhering to a model of community-oriented policing. This position emphasizes collaboration, creativity, and adaptability while addressing the needs of the campus population.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enforce parking regulations on university premises.
  • Provide security services during campus events, including dances, athletic competitions, and special gatherings.
  • Monitor compliance with university policies and applicable laws while on duty.
  • Assist the Public Safety Systems team in maintaining emergency communication devices.
  • Ensure secure access to designated university facilities, allowing entry only to authorized individuals.
  • Support with low-level access issues as directed by supervisory staff.
  • Foster positive relationships within the university community.

Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma or GED required.

Physical Requirements: Must possess the physical capability to perform the duties of a Community Service Officer, which may include walking, climbing stairs, and lifting heavy items.

Certifications: A valid California Driver's License and current Consumer Affairs Guard registration are required. Additional certifications in First-Aid and CPR are preferred.

Selection Process:

The selection process includes a review of applications, an interview with the hiring director, and reference checks.

Employment Type: Full-time

Compensation: Hourly rate of $27.30.
