Job Description Summary

This position is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the college community, adhering to policies and procedures, and preventing incidents through proper planning and resource utilization.

Main Responsibilities
  • Enforce compliance with policies and procedures, including the Staff Handbook and Public Safety Policy and Procedure Addendum.
  • Respond to service calls, answer phone and walk-in requests, and write detailed reports on incidents, injuries, daily activities, and sign-ins.
  • Monitor safety, identify threats, and communicate risk factors.
ID and Access System Function
  • Process ID and access cards, maintain records, and ensure the proper function of the system.
Patrol Function
  • Monitor the property, patrol buildings and grounds, and report irregularities such as fire hazards or utility issues.
  • Document violators of rule infractions, detain or expel non-CCA persons engaging in suspicious or criminal acts, and provide safety escorts for members of the college community.
Minimum Requirements
  • Read, write, and speak fluent English, interpret and apply policies and procedures, and follow written and verbal directions.
  • First aid or CPR training, professional security certifications, and foreign language skills are desirable.
Working Conditions

This position entails shift work, including daytime, evening, or weekend work, and requires the ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

Compensation and Benefits
  • The hourly rate for Day and Swing shifts is $21, and for the Graveyard shift, it is 20% from the base rate.
  • CCA offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical plans, holiday, sick, and vacation time, a retirement match, and tuition remission.
Position Details
  • CCA considers a full-time work week to be 37.5 hours per week; Public Safety works a 40-hour work week.
