About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional Education Support Specialist to join our team at Providence Public Schools. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who seek a challenging yet rewarding experience in supporting students and teachers.

Job Description

The Education Support Specialist will work under the guidance and supervision of the Principal or his designee. Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting Teachers: Participate in daily and long-range lesson and classroom activity planning, conduct learning exercises with small groups of students, guide students in developing positive relationships with peers and adults.
  • Supervising Pupils: Assist with the supervision of pupils in the classroom, corridors, school yards, lavatories, cafeterias, etc... and on field trips.
  • Supporting Students' Needs: Assist Pre-K and other students as needed with toileting, dressing, feeding, positioning, and self-care, which may include diaper changes.
  • Maintaining a Safe Environment: Ensure the safety of school children by participating in crisis intervention procedures and intervening when necessary.

The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be able to work effectively in a team environment, and demonstrate a commitment to providing high-quality support to students and teachers.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants must have:

  • A minimum of 48 college credits or an Associate's degree; alternatively, a passing score of 461 on the ParaPro Test.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Commitment to providing high-quality support to students and teachers.

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary range for this role is $35,000 - $45,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. Additionally, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
