Job SummaryWe're seeking an experienced, empathic CNA to fulfill Hospice Aide duties in our growing Care Teams across the Los Angeles Region. The hospice aide will work under the supervision of a registered nurse and performs various services for a patient as necessary to meet the patient's personal needs and to promote comfort.
Responsibilities- Provide palliative care to bed-ridden patients at a private residence
- Provide quality life care to patients and deliver medical supplies
- Assist in activities of daily living and performing homemaking and other environmental services as assigned
- Provide care per written instruction and maintain the record of patient care
- Assist patient with prescribed exercise as instructed per nurse or therapists
- Report any problems and changes in patient condition to the nurse
- Foster cooperative effort among personnel by understanding the functions of other persons involved in patient care and by active participation in team and staff conferences
- Provide respite for the patient family when on-site as appropriate
- Compassionate warm and accepting attitude towards people
- Personal care expertise, bedside manners, stamina, cope up with distressing situations, emotional stability, and record keeping
- Quick learner, attention to detail, prioritization skill and time management
- Punctual, reliable and must have strong communication skill
- Hearing, eyesight and physical dexterity must be sufficient to perform a physical assessment of the patient's condition and to perform patient care
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 3+ year of experience in a similar field
- Relevant Experience
- Meets training requirements for the State in which you reside
- Completed a minimum of 75 hours of classroom and supervised practical training with at least 16 hours devoted to supervised practical training and with at least 16 hours of classroom instruction completed
- One year experience as a CNA, hospice aide or home health aide
- Must be a licensed driver with an insured automobile in good working order
- Require to see hear and speak and use one or both hands
- Current CPR certification
