Job Summary

We're seeking a highly skilled Engineer to join our Real-Time Operations team. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for conducting engineering analysis and providing real-time support for critical engineering applications and processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct engineering analysis and provide real-time support for engineering applications, processes, and services related to Coordinated Operations responsibilities.
  • Ensure the reliability of the Western Interconnect through effective engineering decision-making, particularly in high-pressure situations.
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to maintain operational excellence and prevent disruptions.
  • Assist in the professional development of engineering personnel through mentorship and training initiatives.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering from a university that meets the requirements to sit for the Professional Engineering exam.
  • Five (5) years of relevant engineering experience, a professional engineer license, or an advanced degree may satisfy the requirement for one year of experience.
  • NERC Reliability Coordinator Certification and NERC PER-005 desk qualification, or the ability to secure such certification within six (6) months of employment.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and competent skills with communication and data handling software programs such as Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Access.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional Engineer Certification (PE) is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with power flow software packages, ATC calculations, stability analysis, and knowledge of power markets.
  • Advanced degree in a related field of study.
  • Electric Utility Industry experience.
Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

This position requires some travel (0-10%).
