JOB OVERVIEW

Wood is actively seeking a Civil Journeyman to contribute to our projects.

U.S. ONLY: Candidates must have authorization to work legally in the U.S. without sponsorship from Wood.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Constructs wooden frameworks, including stairs, concrete forms, scaffolding, and temporary shelters, based on blueprints or verbal instructions.
  • Reviews blueprints, sketches, or construction plans to ascertain required materials and dimensions for fabrication.
  • Responsible for selecting, transporting, and delivering materials to the job site.
  • Prepares layouts for forms or fixtures using precise measurements.
  • Measures and marks materials using tools such as squares, measuring tapes, and rulers.
  • Shapes materials to specified dimensions using various tools.
  • Ensures structural accuracy using transit, plumb bob, square, and level.
  • Utilizes carpentry hand tools including hammers, levels, squares, and power saws.
  • Constructs concrete-supporting forms by nailing cleats across boards.
  • Stabilizes forms with timbers, tie rods, and anchor bolts for concrete construction.
  • Builds frameworks for structures and installs sub-flooring.
  • Assembles timbers for trestles and cofferdams.
  • Installs scaffolding and other access structures, including ladders and handrails.
  • Constructs forms and aligns panels for concrete pouring.
  • Installs pre-fabricated window frames, doors, and finishing hardware.
  • Applies sheathing to outer walls and roofs.
  • Sets and secures anchor bolts.
  • Performs minor maintenance and cleaning of tools and equipment.
  • Demonstrates ability to tie rebar.
  • Operates electric and pneumatic tools.
  • May assist in rigging materials.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Prior experience in the construction field.
  • Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Ability to work with high precision and accuracy.
  • Capable of evaluating information against measurable standards.
  • Skilled in recognizing differences in size, shape, and form.
  • Adept at interpreting flat drawings and visualizing them as three-dimensional objects.
  • Basic mathematical skills are essential.
  • Ability to follow both oral and written instructions.
  • Comfortable working at heights.
