We are seeking a skilled Electrical Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Trane Technologies. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing complex electrical work in industrial maintenance settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Determine the existence of electrical hazards and problems, and safely isolate, ground, and prepare circuits and electrical apparatus to enable repairs.
  • Have knowledge of and use the required personal protective equipment to protect against arc flash and shock.
  • Experience in reading and troubleshooting from blueprints & schematics with system voltages 240 and 480 three-phase systems.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain motor control centers, motor start circuits, control loops, generators, high voltage switchgear, protective relaying, and related equipment.
  • Read/interpret engineering drawings and manuals to install, calibrate and maintain electrical apparatus.
  • Install electrical conduit, pull and terminate wiring.
  • Ability to use electrical/electronic testing equipment to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
  • Use hand and power tools related to the electrical trades.
  • Install and maintain control and distribution apparatus, such as switches, relays, circuit breakers, and control panels.
  • Install and maintain drive systems such as variable frequency drives, eddy current, and DC drives.
  • Install and maintain programmable logic control systems (PLC).
  • Install and calibrate pressure, temperature, flow, and level controls.
  • Observe installed systems to detect hazards and determine the need for adjustments or modifications.
  • Design layout work on panels, set up complex control systems, interpret and alter engineering drawings and wiring diagrams if required.
  • Repair or replace faulty electrical equipment, including electronic controls, meters, outlets, panels and small mechanical devices such as motors.
  • Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Effectively communicate problems and solutions to resolve electrical problems.
  • Participate in the on-the-job training of line mechanics and apprentices as needed.
  • Use computerized maintenance system to retrieve and enter information.
  • Observe safe work practices and ensure work does not endanger others.
  • Perform other duties as required.
