Job Title: Diagnostic Medical Sonographer

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team at UCHealth Aurora Mississippi Free Standing ED. As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, you will be responsible for performing a variety of imaging procedures using ultrasound technology to diagnose and treat medical conditions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Reviews patient history, physician's orders, and schedules exams to ensure accurate and efficient patient care.
  • Educates patients regarding procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure patient understanding and cooperation.
  • Prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.
  • Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.
  • Prepares equipment and supplies, selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters, and implements safety standards.
  • Positions patients and performs imaging procedures, analyzes results, and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Technologist program or Diagnostic Medical Sonographer program.
  • Registered as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS), Vascular Technologist (RVT), or Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or certified in Sonography (S) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • State licensure if required by law.
  • BLS - BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date.
