The Cheese Packaging Specialist will play a crucial role in our state-of-the-art facility, contributing to our strategy for enhancing our cheese operations across North America. We take pride in our strong heritage and are excited about our expansion initiatives.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure adherence to all company policies and procedures, including but not limited to GMP, SOP, HACCP, SSOP, and Health & Safety standards.
  • Efficiently package cheese products according to specified requirements, promptly reporting any product discrepancies and following established protocols.
  • Assist in setting up the packaging line, including machinery, coding devices, computers, product labels, and ingredient selection.
  • Conduct quality inspections to verify that products meet customer specifications as outlined in production documentation.
  • Maintain an organized and clean workspace at all times.
  • Utilize downtime productively.
  • Participate in mandatory safety and departmental meetings.
  • Be flexible to rotate through various positions on the production line.
  • Accurately box and palletize products according to guidelines.
  • Sanitize production lines as required.
  • Document production data accurately.
  • All employees are expected to perform their duties in compliance with safety policies and procedures.
  • Commit to producing high-quality products that exceed customer expectations by following Good Manufacturing Practices and the Safe Quality Food Program.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull weights between 20 and 40 pounds consistently.
  • Capability to perform tasks involving frequent bending, twisting, and maneuvering around equipment.
  • Comfortable standing or walking on concrete surfaces for extended periods.
  • Willingness to work scheduled hours and overtime as necessary.
  • Demonstrate reliability, honesty, respect, attention to detail, and punctuality.
  • Basic analytical and numerical skills with the ability to perform calculations in various units of measurement.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to multitask and work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Commitment to food safety, quality assurance, and customer satisfaction.
  • Professional demeanor that positively represents Saputo at all times.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with varying conditions, including noise and temperature changes.
  • Experience with physical lifting and handling of chemicals while adhering to safety guidelines.
