Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Server to join our team at Village Inn Rio Rancho. As a Server, you will be responsible for providing exceptional dining experiences for our guests, ensuring their needs are met, and creating a welcoming atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare rooms for dining by setting tables and decorating with condiments, candles, and napkins.
  • Protect the establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies.
  • Help guests select food and beverages by presenting menus, suggesting courses, and explaining restaurant specialties.
  • Transmit orders to the bar and kitchen by recording guests' choices and identifying special dietary needs.
  • Serve orders by picking up and delivering guests' choices from the bar and kitchen.
  • Respond to additional guest requirements by inquiring about needs and observing the dining process.
  • Maintain table settings by removing courses as completed, replenishing utensils, and refilling water glasses.
  • Obtain revenues by totaling charges, issuing bills, accepting payments, and delivering change or credit cards.
Requirements:
  • Must possess a positive attitude and work well with other team members.
  • Must be able to work unsupervised and communicate clearly with managers, kitchen, and dining room staff.
  • Must be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Restaurant experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge and understanding of relevant food safety and sanitation laws, principles, procedures, and practices.
Work Environment:

This job operates in a fast-paced restaurant setting and is frequently subjected to heat, steam, fire, and noise.

This role routinely uses standard restaurant equipment such as ovens, cook tops, griddles, deep-fat fryers, grills, microwaves, sharp tools/slicers, and other equipment as necessary.

Physical or Environmental Demands:

This position requires constant standing.

This position may require constant, frequent, or occasional standing, walking, lifting, sitting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, repetitive motions, eye/hand/foot coordination.

Must be able to lift up to 25lbs.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
