Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified School Counselor to join our team at Rio Rancho Public Schools. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing guidance and support to students, parents, and teachers to help students achieve their academic and personal goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive school counseling program that aligns with the school's mission and goals.
  • Provide individual and group counseling to students, focusing on personal, social, educational, and career development.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other staff members to identify and support students' needs.
  • Develop and implement academic plans to help students achieve their academic goals.
  • Provide orientation and support to new students, parents, and faculty members.
  • Administer and interpret standardized tests to identify students' strengths and areas for improvement.
  • Assist with placement and follow-up services for students.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community resources to support students' needs.
  • Prepare and manage the annual site budget for the counseling program.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive records and reports.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in guidance and counseling from a regionally accredited college or university.
  • New Mexico State licensure in school counseling.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with students, parents, teachers, and other staff members.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
Working Conditions
