Position Overview

Clinical Nurse II (RN) – Intensive Care Unit

Full-time – Night Shift

ROLE SUMMARY:

This position represents the foundational role for nurses with over 12 months of experience. The Clinical Nurse II provides and coordinates comprehensive care to patients within a specialized clinical area, actively participating as a key member of the multidisciplinary patient care team.

Clinical Responsibilities:

  • Delivers independent care to a specific patient population, serving as a clinical resource for colleagues and integrating evidence-based practices into daily operations.
  • Maintains accountability to patients and their families for the quality and outcomes of care throughout the treatment process.
  • Collaborates with peers to enhance group practice standards on the unit and reports to the nurse manager regarding overall performance.
  • Acts as the primary coordinating nurse, working with an interdisciplinary team to develop and implement care plans that address the needs of patients and families.
  • Provides clinical guidance and support to other nursing staff.

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program recognized by the Board of Nursing; a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in Maryland or a Compact State RN license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.
