Position Overview
Timmons Group is in search of a skilled Civil Project Engineer II/III specializing in Roadway Design within our Transportation Group.

Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to:

  • Designing horizontal alignments and vertical profiles for roadway enhancement projects.
  • Utilizing AutoDesk Civil 3D and/or Bentley OpenRoads Designer for modeling and designing roadway improvement initiatives.
  • Employing 3D visualization tools for effective communication with clients and the public.
  • Creating plan sheets and assembling project documentation for submission.
  • Conducting roadway and drainage calculations using relevant software and reference materials.
  • Assisting in the development of engineering and construction cost estimates.
  • Researching and acquiring GIS open-source data.
  • Performing field observations and data collection for project analysis and discussions.
  • Continuously learning new technologies to enhance personal and team expertise.
  • Participating in project meetings with stakeholders.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering or a closely related discipline.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in transportation civil engineering, particularly in roadway design.
  • Proficiency in Bentley OpenRoads Designer is preferred.
  • Experience with AutoDesk Civil 3D is preferred.
  • Familiarity with VDOT standards is preferred.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification is preferred.
