Spanish-English Nutrition Support Specialist

This role is designed to provide essential support to the Nutritionist and/or Nutritionist Associate. The Bilingual Nutritionist Assistant may occasionally be required to assist in various offices within the district.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to and manage client inquiries
- Aid clients in completing necessary forms
- Complete WIC 101 training modules
- Educate clients on WIC program guidelines
- Regularly perform blood sample/finger stick procedures for infants, children, and women
- Schedule appointments for WIC services
- Maintain accurate WIC records
- Compile and analyze WIC reports
- Secure and verify information for WIC income eligibility assessments
- Engage in community outreach to promote program participation among eligible clients and complete assigned training and development opportunities.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Proven ability to interview clients and gather pertinent information
- Competence in interpreting, documenting, calculating, and compiling routine data
- Experience in obtaining blood samples/finger sticks from infants, children, and women
- Capability to provide patient education
Additional Skills:
- Familiarity with basic nutrition principles and standards
- Proficiency in computer applications and software, including Crossroads and internal webmail
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with diverse patients and collaborate within a healthcare team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Additional training or coursework in dietetics, food services, or a related discipline
- Experience with the WIC program
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and document information clearly and accurately
- Experience in obtaining anthropometric and hemoglobin measurements
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English
