Position Summary:

JCSI, a prominent provider of public transportation services, is looking for a committed Vehicle Service Person to enhance our operations. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring our fleet is clean, fueled, and ready for safe passenger transport.

Key Duties:

  • Safety Adherence: Comply with all safety protocols and regulations. Utilize hand and power tools responsibly, wear necessary protective gear, and complete mandatory safety training.
  • Vehicle Movement: Safely operate vehicles to designated areas for cleaning, park vehicles as instructed, and transport vehicles off-site when required.
  • Inspection Procedures: Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles before and after use, document findings, report any concerns, and verify vehicle defect cards against reports for accuracy.
  • Maintenance Tasks: Ensure vehicles are operational and prepared for service by fueling, checking fluid levels, and reporting any damages.
  • Customer Care: Prepare vehicles for service by following checklist procedures, cleaning both the interior and exterior, and managing informational materials.
  • Resource Management: Maintain and utilize cleaning supplies effectively, monitor inventory levels, and request additional supplies as necessary.
  • Financial Oversight: Adhere to internal controls regarding fare boxes and manage fare media appropriately.
  • Information Sharing: Provide updates and information to management regarding vehicle status as needed.
  • Documentation: Complete all necessary paperwork and logs accurately.
  • Emergency Support: Operate transit vehicles to assist operators or dispatchers during emergency situations.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred six months of driving experience.
  • Experience in vehicle or truck servicing is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations is beneficial.
  • Proficient in using computer database applications.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and complete written reports.
  • Must meet hiring criteria, including being at least 18 years old, possessing a satisfactory driving record, and passing background checks.
  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.

Work Environment: This position requires working in a dynamic environment focused on maintaining high standards of safety and service.
